Halloween Mantle

Photobucket

Right to Left the how to of the mantle.  I had the candlesticks already.  Their home with pillars on them is the mantle typically.  I took the candles off and added 3 pumpkins I found at the dollar tree.  I will later share the how to on the plates but they cost me only $3.00..Love Them.  I cut the ring part off of orange spider rings and used glue dots to adhere the spiders onto the mirror. I found these cut little trees at the one spot at Target and then in about 2 minutes on line I had ordered the following:

The sisters over at Eighteen25 had this great subway art and below the mantle I made this cute burlap and  orange(this fabric was a shirt I found at a garage sale for 50 cents and cut it up) garland bunting using the tutorial over at Brown Paper Packages.  The one difference is I cut my fabric shorter.

I love fall and I LOVE how my mantle turned out..yahoo I have a mantle now!!!

Fun Apple Slices

To make these you cut an apple in slices from the top down and then cut out the core with mini cookie cutters. Then to keep them from browning I have them take a swim in a bowl of pineapple juice. I make these all year with different shaped mini cookie cutters.

Veggie Monsters

This was so fun to do with my teenager.

To make the veggie monsters you need to: 1. Deseed a green pepper and put a small mouth slit near the bottom 2. You peel a carrot and then make a long peel for the tongue 3. Slice a cucumber with the peel on 4. Cut some large broccoli florets 5. Cut 2 toothpicks in half

To assemble it you need to: 1. From the inside of the pepper poke the toothpicks through where the eyes should be and them add a cucumber slice to both and a grape tomato to both. 2. Add Broccoli to the top for the hair 3. Add peppers to a platter surround with vegetables. 4. Insert carrot tongue into slit and place over vegetables. The kids really got a kick out of these 2 guys!!!!
